Many people have felt the need to say good things about us. Here are just a few:

"I adore this store! There is literally nothing like it where I am from (Arizona). Brittany and Moi were extremely helpful and friendly. Your inventory is stellar and the fact that you are a co-op thrills me! Please never close--I come here every time I'm in Madison!"

-Kathleen, Arizona

John Nichols is an author and editor for the Capital Times, a daily paper in Madison, Wisconsin. He writes:

"George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld do not want you to shop at Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative. Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn and Alice Walker do want you to shop at Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative. Pick a side."

Bob McChesney is the author of eight books on media and politics, professor of communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and host of the weekly talk show, Media Matters, on WILL-AM radio. He writes:

"Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative is one of the truly outstanding cooperative institutions on the United States, providing a community meeting space as well as access to a wide range of books unavailable elsewhere. It has been instrumental in galvanizing Wisconsin's progressive community, and I hate to think where we would be without it. Now with its website, Rainbow's virtues may be enjoyed by people everywhere. I urge people to support Rainbow Bookstore Cooperative in any manner that they can."

Max Elbaum is the author of "Revolution in the Air: Sixties Radicals Turn to Lenin, Mao and Che" and has been involved in peace and anti-racist movements since joining students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in Madison, Wisconsin in the 1960s. He writes:

"Rainbow Books is not only one of the best places to get stimulating reading material in the country - it is a vital community center brimming with insurgent spirit and hope for the future. My political roots are in late-1960s in Madison, and when I go to Rainbow Books today it is like coming home."
